Lill-Babs has died at the age of 80

Barbro Svensson, better know as Lill-Babs, has passed away today at the age of 80.
Her daughter, Malin Bergman, who Lill-Babs got together with famous singer and Melodifestivalen participant Lasse Berghagen, let the world know on her instagram account that her beloved mother has died today after a short period of illness.
Lill-Babs came to the ER with heart failure but while there, the doctors discovered a malign tumor. Those two conditions combined were too heavy on her. Her family has been around her all the time while she was in the hospital and this morning she passed away.

Now she’s reunited with mama Brita, says daughter Malin:

Lill-Babs was an icon in the Swedish music industry with a career spanning over more than six decades and still singing and making (musical) public appearances until very recently. One of her most popular hits was ‘Är du kär i mej ännu Klas-Göran?’ (Are you still in love with me, Klas-Göran?). She has done everything there is to do in show business from making albums to musicals, acting and presenting but Eurovision fans might know her best from her 1961 entry representing her native Sweden, ‘April, april’:

Countless people, from fellow Eurovision artists and close friends Siw Malmkvist (Sweden 1960 & Germany 1969) and Lill Lindfors (Sweden 1966 and 1985 host) to the king of Sweden, Carl-Gustaf XVI, have expressed their sadness and condolences and remember her as a warm and youthful personality who always managed to make everyone around her happy!

Rest in Peace, Lill-Babs.
Lots of strength and condolences to Barbro’s family and friends.
