Wales to debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest!

Happy news! Welsh broadcaster S4C has announced that Wales will make their debut in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest laster this year!

They are launching a selection, Chwilio am seren (Search for a star), to find their representative. Solo singers and groups (up to 6 people) between the ages of 9 and 14 on the day of the international final (November 25) can apply. The song is to be performed in Welsh.

Auditions will be held all over Wales in search for their entrant and visit these cities:

  • Lllandudno (June 10)
  • Aberystwyth (June 17)
  • Cardiff (June 23)
  • Cardiff (June 24) (Callback round)

After the auditions there will be a mentoring phase, for which 12 auditionees will be selected and where they will develop their skills under the guidance of three mentors and performing coaches. Then 6 of them will go on to the live televised final in which an expert panel and televoters will select the first ever Welsh entrant!
