Your new music round up for this week!

Last week ESCBubble published its first weekly round up of Eurovision related music post contest and this week we’re back again to round up this week’s new releases.  It’s a bumper week of discoveries so let’s crack on:

Samir Bedran and Sigrid Bernson – När jag ligger med nån annan

In a big week of new releases from Swedish Melodifestivalen stars, two of this years acts have teamed up for a duet.  Samir Bedran of course is one half of the successful duet Samir och Viktor, whose song ‘Shuffla’ finished a very respectable 4th at this years contest, their highest finish yet.  Meanwhile Sigrid Bernson made it as far as Andra Chansen with ‘Patrick Swayze’ narrowly losing out to Mendez in her duel.  Rumoured to be dating and therefore potentially making the lyrics even more interesting, you can listen to their hook up ‘När jag ligger med nån annan’ (English ‘When I lie with someone else’) here:

LIAMOO – Nothing Here

Another 2018 Melodifestivalen finalist, debutant LIAMOO (real name Liam Thomassen) finished a very credible 6th with the rap infused song ‘Last Breath’.  His new single ‘Nothing Here’, part of the ‘Journey’ EP, has writing credits by two familiar Eurovision names – Trey Campbell from this years Bulgarian act Equinox and Joy Deb who of course was a composer of both the 2015 Eurovision winner ‘Heroes’ by Måns Zelmerlow and this years Finnish entry, ‘Monsters’ by Saara Aalto.  You can listen to the ‘Journey’ EP below:

De Vet Du – Vi Sjunger

The four piece Swedish group, who reached Andra Chansen last year with the infectious ‘Road Trip’ have returned with the equally catchy ‘Vi Sjunger’ (English; ‘We Sing’).  This is their first release since the 2017 contest although they did make a cameo in one of Samir och Viktor’s videos, ‘Kung’, during this time.  Check out ‘Vi Sjunger’ here:

ManuElla – The Sound

Manuella Brečko, better known to Eurovision fans as ManuElla, has twiced attempted to represent Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest.  She successfully won the Slovenia selection show (EMA) in 2016 with the song ‘Blue and Red’ but unfortunately failed to qualify to the Eurovision Grand Final.  She also competed in the 2018 EMA selection with her entry ‘Glas’ but did not qualify from the semi final after finishing in 12th place.  Undeterred she is back with a new single titled ‘The Sound’:

Oscar Zia – Vem tar hand om dig

Back to another former Melodifestivalen artist, Oscar Zia has twice entered the contest and made the final both times, finishing 8th in 2014 with ‘Yes We Can’ and 2nd in 2016 with ‘Human’.  He had also been a backing vocalist in 2013’s contest featuring on Behrang Miri’s entry ‘ Jalla Dansa Sawa’ which made Andra Chansen.  Here he teams up with Lamix for a new single ‘Vem tar hand om mig’ (English: ‘Who cares for you’).  Will we see him back for 2019’s contest?  Check out his new single here:

Calum Scott feat Ilse DeLange – You Are The Reason

Calum Scott is a former Britain’s Got Talent act who finished 6th in 2015, and then had a breakout hit with a cover of the Robyn single ‘Dancing On My Own’.  This week he re-released his latest single ‘You Are The Reason’ with Ilse DeLange, who finished 2nd at Eurovision in 2014 as part of The Common Linnets.  You can hear their newly released duet below:

Petter featuring Molly Sanden and Sami – Regnet

Molly Sanden has a rich and long history in Eurovision related contests, including representing Sweden at 2006’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest where she finished 3rd and also competing at Melodifestivalen in 2009, 2012 and 2016, qualifying for the final each time.  She has teamed up this week with Swedish act Petter, who has been around on the domestic music scene for over 20 years.  The song ‘Regnet’ (English ‘The Rain’) also features the artist Sami and you can listen to it here:

Sondr. feat Molly Hammar – Holding On

Molly Hammar, better known to Melodifestivalen fans as Molly Pettersson Hammar, took part in the Swedish selection show in both 2015 and 2016 (‘I’ll Be Fine’ finished 6th in its semifinal in 2015 whilst ‘Hunger’ made Andra Chansen in 2016).  She also co-wrote the 2016 Maltese Eurovision entry ‘Walk On Water’ by Ira Losco, where she additionally featured as a backing vocalist.  This week she teams up with British act Sondr where she also has a credit as a co-writer.  Here’s ‘Holding On’:
