Eurovision comedy-thriller ‘Douze Points’ is in the making!

As Eurovision viewers we’re not strangers to both comedy and thrilling moments during the live shows but now a comedy-thriller about the Eurovision Song Contest is actually on its way!

Adar Shafran is a film producer who, last year, had a hit movie with the gangster-comedy ‘Maktub’ and now he is taking on the Eurovision Song Contest, filmwise that is!
The title will be ‘Douze Points’ and the backdrop for the movie will be the next year’s Eurovision Song Contest, which will be taking place in Israel.
The plot for the film is a plan by extremists to assassinate the president by posing as members of a French boyband participating in the contest while a group of Mossad agents tries to guarantee the security of the Eurovision but in disguise: as trained stylists, hairdressers and choreographers!

With Eurovision ”just” 9 months away, and making a movie being a gigantic production, Shafran himself remarks:

We have to move fast. We need all three episodes to be ready to air around the time of the contest, which means we need start shooting by December at the latest.

To get a taste of Adar Shafran’s work, here is the trailer of last year’s hit movie ‘Maktub’:

Will you be watching ‘Douze Points’ if you get the chance?
