As we all know by now, Malta is trying a new approach for next Eurovision season: the representative will be chosen through the well-known format X Factor, that will be coming to Malta for the first time! Ben Camille, who has hosted Junior Eurovision 2016 before, will also be hosting the very first edition of this show.
The organizers have announced that Keith Debono, best known for being the manager of Ira Losco (Malta 2002 & 2016), Ray Merciera (musician, well known through his memorable songs with The Characters and The Rifffs) and Alexandra Alden (musician) are the first three judges. Now they have also announced the fourth and final judge, and that is none other than the biggest music star in Malta, and their two time Eurovision entrant – Ira Losco!
Ira Losco represented Malta back in Eurovision 2002 with “7th wonder” which finished in second place, and she came back in 2016 with “Walk On Water” and she finished 12th. Apart from this, Ira is the top selling Maltese artist in the past 15 years. Over the years she recorded more than 5 albums and has close to 20 music videos.
The panel is now complete. The first auditions in front of the judges will take place tomorrow, and the show is expected to start in October. Stay tuned to ESCBubble for all the news on The X Factor Malta.
