Switzerland is looking for their song for Eurovision 2019!

Swiss national broadcasters SRF, RTS, RSI and RTR are starting their search for the Swiss song for Eurovision 2019! In an open call for songs all interested authors will be able to submit their entries from the 1st of September at noon, until the 1st of October.

The Swiss broadcaster is looking for a modern song, with lyrics that have a strong, clear and understandable message. One author can enter no more than five songs.  Please note that commercial, religious, or non-profit organizations and foundations are prohibited from participating in the Swiss national selection.

The applications will be accepted only via the SRG SSR platform, and once submitted, you can not withdraw your application. Composers and lyricists who are Swiss nationals or are residents in Switzerland will be given priority, however the nationality will not be the deciding factor, thus anyone can submit their song(s).

The songs and artists who will compete in the national selection will be selected in a multi-stage, multi-level process by a panel of 100 viewers and an international jury of 20 experts. SRG SSR will have the option to award up to three wildcards each in the preselection process. These (up to) nine songs will also be judged by the viewers and the juries. The Swiss broadcaster also reserves the right to change the artist for any of the submitted songs.

All composers and artists that go through the first phase of the competition will be notified by the end of the year. The exact dates of the selection rounds are yet to be announced.

Zibbz won Entscheidungsshow 2018 with their song “Stones”, and unfortunately failed to qualify for the Grand Final in Lisbon.
