Serbia starts an open call for songs for Eurovision 2019!

RTS, the Serbian national broadcaster has just opened a call for songs for Eurovision 2019, and confirmed that the Serbian entrant for Israel is going to be selected in a televised final.

According to the rules published by RTS, authors of all nationalities are welcome to submit songs to the national selection, however, the songs have to be in one of the official languages used in Serbia. The songs can not be published before the actual national selection. Submitted entries can not be withdrawn.

The deadline for the song submission is 1st of November. After this date, a special jury will listen to all of the submitted songs ans select the best ones to proceed to the national final. The winner of the national final will be chosen by 50% televoting and 50% jury votes. The exact date of the national final is yet to be announced.

Should none of the submitted songs satisfy the preselection jury, RTS reserves the right to cancel the selection, and select an artist and a song internally.

Sanja Ilic & Balkanika won this year’s edition of Beovizija, and their entry “Nova deca” finished in 19th place in Lisbon.
