Rita Laranjeira has been chosen to represent Portugal in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest!

RTP’s internal selection for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018 has been won by Rita Laranjeira!
To decide who will be representing Portugal in the contest, a selection committee was formed, consisting of: Fernando Martins, Carla Bugalho (Head of Delegation), Nuno Galopim, Sílvia Alberto (Eurovision 2018 host) and Pedro Madeira (Junior Eurovision 2006).

Rita’s song is has not been made public yet, but it is known that RTP had invited a composer to come forward with one or several songs that capture the essence of ”diversity, empathy and modernity”.

Rita herself still can’t believe she has won and said, in the Portuguese television show Agora Nós (where Head of Delegation Carla Bugalho was present as well):

I think I have not yet set foot on the ground, I feel I’m dreaming!
