Here are the hosts for Melodifestivalen 2019!

Just this afternoon, in Stockholm, Swedish broadcaster SVT have revealed which people will be guiding the Swedish viewers through the six Melodifestivalen shows in the winter of 2019.
SVT have chosen 4 presenters this year:

  • Marika Carlsson
  • Eric Saade
  • Kodjo Akolor
  • Sarah Dawn Finer

Sarah has reacted already, with huge joy and shares with the world on Twitter:

Marika Carlsson is a (stand up) comedian, born in Ethopia but adopted by a Swedish family and raised in Lund in Skåne in the Southernmost part of Sweden. She was awarded the prestigious prize ”Female Comedian of the Year” in both 2006 and 2012.
Eric Saade is probably the host, out of those four, that needs the least introduction. Known to Eurovision fans for his (Melodifestivalen) hits Manboy (2010), Popular (2011) and Sting (2015), winning Melodifestivalen with ‘Popular’ and giving Sweden third place at Eurovision in Düsseldorf, Germany, their first top 3 finish in 12 years.

Kodjo Akolor is a comedian as well, but has also often been a host on radio and TV, most notably as one of the DJs in the glass house of Musikhjälpen, where he and other colleagues are locked up inside the glass house for a week and make non-stop radio to raise money for charity.
Sarah Dawn Finer is the only host among these four that has hosted Melodifestivalen before, in 2012 and 2016, but Eurovision fans know her for so much more! Her radio hits from Melodifestivalen in 2007 (I Remember Love) and 2009 (Moving On) and ofcourse her wildly popular alter ego: bubbly EBU lady: Lynda Woodruff!

The artists and songs competing aren’t known yet, they will be revealed at a later stage, with high probability in the beginning of December.
We do know that The Lovers of Valdaro have a guaranteed place in next year’s Melodifestivalen as they were picked by SVT from the competition P4 Nästa, as happens every year.

But back to the hosts for the moment, what are your thoughts on them?
Exactly who you wished for or are you surprised?
