It’s official – Bulgaria withdraws from Eurovision 2019!
Sad news come from Bulgaria for the majority of Eurovision fans, as BNT officially confirmed that Bulgaria withdraws from the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in May next year in Israel.
BNT states that the reason behind their withdrawal are finances, as the Eurovision project has exceeded the broadcaster’s financial capacities, according to the management.

We are sad to announce that Bulgaria withdraws from #Eurovision. The decision is based on financial reasons because the costs of the project far exceed the financial capacity of BNT according to the Management of the broadcaster— BNT Eurovision Bulgaria 🇧🇬 (@bg_eurovision) October 15, 2018
Bulgaria first entered the Contest in 2005, and achieved their best result in 2017, when Kristian Kostov represented his country with “Beautiful Mess”, and finished in second place.
