Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet has announced that Marika Carlsson will be one of the presenters of next years Melodifestivalen 2019.

Aftonbladet’s source says Marika was selected because “She fits perfectly into the group that SVT wants to lead Mello next year.”

The newspaper reports that next years Melodifestivalen will also have “three or four” hosts in total.

Marika Carlsson is a well known Swedish comedian and TV personality who won Best Female Standup Comedian at the 2006 Swedish Comedy Awards.

Aswell as being a standup Carlsson has starred in a number of Swedish shows such as Stockholm Live, 100% and panel gameshow Parlamentet (as shown below)

Aftonbladet also confirms that Christer Björkman will once again be the competition producer, while Henric von Zweigbergk will take on a new role as the content producer. As we announced last month, Edward af Sillén will also be working a consultant. This maybe due to the fact that ratings for the show dipped last year to their lowest level since 2011.
