Last May he brought his home country, the Czech Republic, their by far best placing ever at the Eurovision Song Contest with his infectious hit ‘Lie to Me’.
Since then he has made appearances in both the Czech Republic and abroad to perform his songs and meet up with fans and now Mikolas Josef has released his follow-up single: ‘Me Gusta’!
The song was written by Mikolas himself together with Sebastian Arman and Joacim Persson, two men behind very succesful Eurovision entries like ‘If Love Was a Crime’, ‘Beautiful Mess’ and ‘Nobody But You’.
And Mikolas wasn’t just involved in the creation of the song but is also the one credited for the directing of the video (co-directed by Matěj Třešňák).
The music video has more of a night life vibe than ‘Lie to Me’. Once again we see Mikolas dancing around freely like we’re used to from him, making it all look effortless and careless.
You will also notice he took a seat on an animal again, having mounted a horse this time!
The song itself is completely in line with today’s music. A sharp production with a heavy base line making it highly danceable.
Versatile in sound as it would make both a succesful Eurovision entry and an international hit, although in recent years, there luckily is no divide between the two whatsoever anymore!
