Saara Aalto will participate in ‘Dancing On Ice’ in 2019!

Finnish superstar, Eurovision representative and X-Factor UK 2016 runner-up Saara Aalto is about to show a new area of expertise. It was announced earlier this week that this singer-songwriter will take part in “Dancing on Ice” 2019 in the UK. Aalto will be competing with British celebrities like actor Richard Blackwood, singer Melody Thornton and choreographer James Jordan.

Aalto is extremely excited about this project. She stated:

It is so unbelievable that I was asked to join in such a big British TV-show. Many British people have never even tried on skating, that is why this show has such a huge entertainment value.

Saara Aalto thinks that she might have a small advantage at least in the beginning of the competition, because she has skated a lot growing up.

I’ve been told that contestants take the competition quite seriously and develop very much during the training season, so I really have to give all I have! It would be so amazing if the Finnish ice princess could win this competition.

The next couple of months are going to be extremely busy for Aalto, because her “Wild Wild Wonderland” tour is on, and at the same time she must start training for Dancing on Ice as well. Luckily she has got a special permission for training with the Finnish ice-skating coach while her tour continues in Finland. Aalto already knows how she’s going to handle both her tour and ice-skating practice.

This is going to be fun, but hard Finnish tour. In the morning I’ll be at the ice stadium training and from there I go straight to the gig. After the tour I fly straight to London where I start training with my skating partner. We practice intensively until the end of the year.

Dancing On Iceis a British TV-format, where celebrities learn ice-skating, perform together with their skating partners and compete for the jury and public votes every week. The show was aired in Britain in 2006-2014 and returned back to ITV this year. This will be the 11th season of this very popular TV show.

Let’s just remind ourselves of one of Saara’s best performances from the UK X Factor:
