The Final of Lithuania’s Eurovizija 2019 to take place on the 23rd of February

As we informed you earlier, Lithuania’s national broadcaster LRT has announced that they will be reducing the number of shows of Eurovizija for 2019. Now they have announced that the Final of their national selection is going to take place on the 23rd of February, and they also started their submission period.

Eurovizija 2019 will kick off in January, and it will consist of eight shows, instead of nine as it was the case in the 2018 edition. The show will conclude with a Grand Final on the 23rd of February, when we will find out who will be the successor of Ieva Zasimauskaite.

All artists and composers wishing to participate in Lithuania’s Eurovizija 2019 have until the 10th of December to submit their applications. Candidates who are able to apply for participation are split into three categories: composers who wish to submit their song but have no artists to sing them, performers without a song, and performers with their own song. Foreign composers are allowed to submit their entries to the contest, however, the artists must have Lithuanian citizenship.

Ieva Zasimauskaite represented Lithuania earlier this year in Lisbon, and she managed to bring back Lithuania to the Grand Final, after missing out last year. Her entry “When We’re Old” finished in 10th place with the public vote, and in 12th place overall.
