RTVE have received 336 songs for Operación Triunfo 2018 already!

Spanish broadcaster RTVE have, in the midst of hit series and national selection Operación Triunfo rolling, given us an update on how the Eurovision preparations are coming along!
At this stage, those preparations consist of RTVE being open to submissions, songs written for the current Operación Triunfo participants that could become the Spanish Eurovision entry!

So far, RTVE have received 336 songs already.
Most of those songs can be categorised as either mainstream pops songs or ballads but among minority of those genres as latin rhythm, trap and heavy metal can be found!
Most of the entries are in Castilian (the standard Spanish used by radio and TV presenters) but also several others in the other languages of Spain and even a composition that includes sentences in all of the official languages in Spain.

RTVE also added that many of those compositions were written by young newcomers looking for their first big break but among the submissions there are also entries written by distinguished Eurovision composers, names familiar to Eurovision fans.

This year, the song elected to represent Spain in Lisbon was called ‘Tu canción’ and sung by Operación Triunfo 2017 love birds Amaia and Alfred!

The ten best submissions in the end, will be recorded by Operación Triunfo 2018 participants.
