There will then follow 2 semi final’s in January/February 2019 (dates to be confirmed) , however the process of qualification to the final has changed and now the public will have more of a say! There will be a national jury who will choose 5 of the songs that will progress, and the public alone will choose the 6th from each semi final.

For the first time ever, there will be an International Jury, as well as a viewer vote, in the final of Selecția Națională to decide the winner, and Romania’s representative to the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Tel Aviv Israel in May 2019. As the National Selection organiser, TVR reserves its option to offer a wild card in each phase of the Selection.

The Rules & Conditions of the contest, as well as all other significant information can be accessed directly on the official website eurovision.tvr.ro.

Earlier this year, Romania failed to qualify from the second semi final in Lisbon this year, with Humans and their song “Goodbye”
