Meet the Finalists of EMA 2019 – Slovenia’s Eurovision selection!

After last year’s success of Lea Sirk with “Hvala ne”, the Slovenian national broadcaster is once again organizing EMA in order to find their act for Eurovision in Tel Aviv. Out of a total of 103 received entries, a pre-selection jury has selected the best 10 which will proceed to EMA 2019.

The 10 acts competing at EMA 2019 are as follows:

  1. Fed Horses – Ti ne poznaš konjev
  2. Inmate – Atma
  3. Kim – Rhythm Back To Me
  4. Lumberjack – Lepote dna
  5. Okustični – Metulji plešejo
  6. Raiven – Kaos
  7. Renata Mohorič – Three Bridges
  8. René – Ne poveš
  9. Ula Ložar – Fridays
  10. Zala Kralj & Gašper Šantl – Oprosti

Raiven has taken part twice in EMA – in 2016 with “Črno bel” when she finished second, and she was also a finalist in 2017 with “Zažarim”. She also co-hosted last year’s edition of EMA. Ula Ložar was the first ever Junior Eurovision entrant for Slovenia back in 2014, and she performed “Nisi Sam / Your Light” in Malta, which was written by Maraaya.

The date when EMA 2019 is going to take place is yet to be announced. The winner will be selected in two phases of voting – first the 10 songs will be narrowed down to two by a jury, and then the public will choose the winner of the two “superfinalists”. The last time Slovenia used this method was in 2016 when ManuElla won with “Blue And Red”.
