They have just selected their act for 2019 – Lake Malawi and their song “Friend Of A Friend”, but the Czech national broadcaster CT has already confirmed their participation in Eurovision 2020! They are going to organize a big televised national final for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest.

All musicians, composers, producers, artists wishing to enter the Czech national selection for Eurovision 2020 have until the 30th of June to do so, by sending their application to escmusic@ceskatelevize.cz. The song has to be in line with the Eurovision rules (original, 3 minute long songs, without any political messages or harsh language), and it can be of any music genre – from folk, disco, pop, emo, trap, rock, heavy metal…

The submission period will close on the 30th of June 2019, whilst the Final will take place in Forum Karlín in Prague on the 25th of January 2020. The exact format is yet to be announced.

Lake Malawi won the online national selection this year, and will go on to represent the Czech Republic in Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv with the song “Friend Of A Friend”. Give it a listen here:
