YLE held a special press conference hosted by Krista Siegfrids, where the Finnish entrant for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest was presented. And it is none other than Darude!

Darude remains one of dance music’s most influential stars in Finland, and is Finland’s most well known musician all over the world. One of his most famous songs is of course “Sandstorm”, that currently stands at 143 million views on Youtube.

In a conversation with Krista, he stated that we can expect club music as the Finnish entry in this year’s Eurovision, one that will “of course be about love”. Darude will release three tracks on the 8th, 15th and 22nd of February. All of these tracks will feature the vocals of Sebastian Rejman, who is known from the band The Giant Leap.

These three tracks will be performed live in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu on the 2nd of March, where the winning track, and thus Finland’s Eurovision entry will be selected by a mix of televoting and jury votes.
