Greece will choose internally for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019!

For the upcoming edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, the Greeks will once again go internal when it comes to choosing their representative.

This Monday (the 7th of January), a meeting will be held at the ERT headquarters.
A Eurovision committee has been formed, spearheaded by famous Greek composer Dimitris Papadimitriou (who wrote the opening theme for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens). A committee that has been given the opportunity to propose names of artists they’d like to see and represent the country and after that the song will be made according to the singer’s usual (music) style.

Maria Koufopoulou, ERT Director of International Relations, confirms to fellow Eurovision website EurovisionFun:

We have decided to give the opportunity to the members of the committe to propose names, which we will then approach. The official announcement of the committee’s members has not yet come because some members are missing for holidays and we want to meet all together before finalizing the press release. A meeting is expected next Monday.

Last year’s internal selection gave us Yianna Terzi and her ethnic piece ‘Oniro Mou’:

Going back to the proposing that will follow this Monday: who would you propose if you were on the committee?
