Viewing figures of A Dal drop to a record low in the first heat!
The first heat of A Dal 2019 took place on Saturday in Budapest, where the first 10 acts competed for six places in the semi finals. Even though MTVA did various changes in the branding of A Dal, and changed one half of the jury, the viewing figures of the show reached a record low.
Since the very first edition of A Dal in 2012, the first heat of the 2019 edition which was held on Saturday is the second least watched show ever, with 273,000 viewers. The only show seen by less people was the first semi final of the 2017 edition, which was held on a Friday evening.
Last year’s first heat of A Dal was seen by over 405,000 viewers, which makes this year’s viewing figures lower by almost 35%! If we compare the first shows of A Dal in all of its years of existance, we get the following viewing:
2013: 912,719
2014: 826,703
2012: 823,000
2015: 709,092
2016: 642,573
2017: 488,742
2018: 405,365
2019: 273,000
How MTVA and Duna TV are going to try and improve the viewing figures for the remaining five shows remains to be seen.
