Nina Petković: ‘Sometimes less is more. More or less’

Nina Petković was the fan favorite in the last year’s edition of Montevizija, where she took part with the song “Dišem”. Even though her song didn’t make it to Eurovision, it went on to become a hit in Montenegro. Now Nina is back again this year, and will try to win Montenegro’s ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv with the song “Uzmi ili ostavi” (Eng: Take It Or Leave It).

We had a great pleasure to chat with Nina ahead of Montevizija, find out more about her memories from last year’s competition, her new song “Uzmi ili ostavi”, as well as her upcoming plans. Check out everything she told us in this interview right here:

Hi Nina! Thank you for taking your time out for doing this interview with us. For the start, tell us how was your experience in last year’s Montevizija??

Hi Ervin, finally we’re here! 🙂 The experience, in the way it was, it is mine 🙂  Da Vinci said that an experience is the best source of knowledge. This is why I am also collecting different experiences throughout all of these years, and then I manage to learn new things from them 🙂

How did you decide to enter Montevizija once again?

I couldn’t really describe it in short. I guess God wanted it that way 🙂

Can you tell us more about the team behind the song?

Bojan Momčilović, Zoran Radonjić and myself are the ones who wrote the song. Bojan and Zoran are my people, not to say “colleauges” from the band “Dan poslije”. They are actually more than colleauges, because the band was my second family.

How would you compare “Uzmi ili ostavi” to your last year’s entry “Dišem“?

“Uzmi ili ostavi” is a lot more direct and stronger in character, kind of “daring”, whilst “Dišem” was a lot more gentle and tame.

You had a fantastic stage performance in Montevizija last year. Can we expect the same, or even more this year?

Thank you for your kind words 🙂  I am the kind of person who always competes with herself, as this is something that motivates me and keeps me going. The ideas and preparations for the performance are coming to its end, but I can’t really say whether there’s going to be “more”. Sometimes less is more. More or less 😀

How would you describe your song in three words?

Well… Take-it or leave-it 😂

Which act do you think is going to be your biggest competition?

I am always my own biggest competition. I have a huge respect towards the other competitors, and I’m not underestimating anyone in any sense.

Why should you be the one to represent Montenegro in Eurovision in Israel?

As a contestant, it’s really hard to answer the question “why”.

Are you currently working on any other projects apart from Montevizija?

Currently Montevizija is my absolute priority of course, thus we paused all of the other projects. But I can tell you that we are currently negotiating a release of my new album with a record label in Belgrade.

Thank you very much for your time once again Nina, and we wish you the best of luck in Montevizija!

Thank you for your kind words and your nice wishes. And greetings to all the readers of ESCBubble ❤
