Eurovision.tv and Russian broadcaster RTR have just announced the big news: national superstar Sergey Lazarev is making a return to the Eurovision Song Contest!
Sergey became known all over Russia when he, in 2001, started the boyband Smash!! together with Vlad Topalov.
At the end of 2004 the duo split up but Sergey’s star only rose higher and higher and was beloved as one of the biggest Russian stars when he accepted the offer to represent his country at Eurovision 2016 in Moscow with ‘You Are The Only One’, reaching 3rd place (including a televoting victory)!
More details on Sergey’s participation will be unveiled during the show Hi, Andriy!, aired on Russia 1 this Saturday at 15:30 CET.
