Tonight, at Laugardalshöll in Reykjavik, Söngvakeppnin 2019 we had the thrilling battle to see who will be representing Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel in May

Performing tonight were:

1. Friðrik Ómar – Hvað ef ég get ekki elskað?
2. Kristina Skoubo Bærendsen – Mama Said
3. Tara Mobee – Fighting for Love
4. Hera Björk – Moving On
5. Hatari – Hatrið mun sigra

The first round of voting consisted of 50% televote and 50% expert jury, following which,Friðrik Ómar and Hatari moved on to the second round, which was 100% televote and it was finally revealed that the winners were Hatari!

We were then treated to a reprise of Hatrið mun sigra and now look forward to seeing them perform in Tel Aviv! Congratulations!
