Dana International to open Grand Final with 2 songs

Dana International is to open this years Grand Final, singing the song ‘Tel Aviv’ aswell as a special version of the song ‘Diva’.

It’s been reported that Omer Adam who originally sung the song ‘Tel Aviv’ turned down an offer to sing the song due to rehearsals taking place during the Sabbath.

‘Tel Aviv’ was the official anthem of Tel Aviv Gay Pride in 2013. The song was composed by the writer of last years winner ‘Toy’ Doron Medalie. Doron was also behind the 2015 Israeli entry ‘Golden boy’.


According to Israeli website Walla the singers from this years Eurovision will also be seen arriving from an aeroplane, walking to the stage. The singers will then meet with Dana International, who will be standing on a raised stage.

Other events reported to be happening during the final will include:

-A sketch with UK Eurovision commentator Graham Norton. This year will mark his 10th year as commentator.

-Madonna performing 2 songs, ‘Like a prayer’ in addition to a song from her new album.

-An appearance from ‘Wonder Woman’ actress Gal Gadot.

-Netta Barzilai performing her new song.

-A joint performance from Måns Zelmerlöw, Eleni Foureira, Conchita Wurst and Verka Serduchka who will perform each others songs aswell as the 1979 winning song “Hallelujah”.
