The public review ‘Hatrið Mun Sigra’ by Hatari

Our series of public reviews continues with Iceland. The Icelandic national final ‘Songvakeppnin’ was won by Hatari with their song Hatrið mun sigra, and the band have been grabbing an awful lot of attention since with their self-proclaimed bondage punk. The title of the song translates as Hate Will Prevail.

14 people from different countries, of different ages and professions took part in this year’s “Public Reaction” project. They are all casual viewers of the Eurovision Song Contest – none of them are huge fans of the Contest, and none of them have heard any of the songs before we played them all to them (except maybe the one representing their own country)

In the video you can hear the thoughts and impressions of our panel members from the very first time they listened to ‘Hatrið mun sigra’, and we also asked them to score the song out of 10 and you will be able to see the latest set of results.

You can listen to Hatari’s entry here. What do you think of the song?, do you agree with the panel?, and could Hatari help Iceland to make it back into the Eurovision Grand Final this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
