Betting Odds: Azerbaijan Reaches 4th Favourite to Win Eurovision

Azerbaijan has soared in today’s betting odds, with the country now sitting as the fourth favourites to win this years contest.

Chingiz has shot up the betting odds by nine places, having started today as the 13th favourite to win.

Azerbaijan is the first nation this year to dramatically increase their chances of winning after their first rehearsal. At the top of the odds, the Netherlands has fallen back 2% to a 25% chance of winning. Russia has also slipped falling from a 15% chance of winning down to 12%, followed by Italy who have increased their chances to 9%.

The countries that have suffered with the bookmakers the most are as follows:

  • Portugal – Falling from 13th to 18th place
  • Finland- Falling from 27th to 31st place
  • Norway – Falling from 10th to 13th place
  • Switzerland – Falling from 3rd to 6th place since their first rehearsal

The countries that have improved with the bookmakers the most are as follows:

  • Azerbaijan- Climbing from 15th to 4th place
  • Australia- Climbing from 16th to 11th place
  • Austria- Climbing from 36th to 33rd place
  • Czech Republic- Climbing from 19th to 16th place
  • Italy – Climbing from 4th to 3rd place since their first rehearsal

The current odds to win according to Eurovision World are as follows. Note that the % change and place changes are based on the odds before the rehearsals:

  2. Russia – 12% (-1%)
  3. Italy – 9% (+1 place, + 2%)
  4. Azerbaijan – 7% – (+9 places, +6%)

  7. Malta – 3% (+2 places, +1%)
  8. Iceland – 5% (-2 places, -2%)
  9. Cyprus – 3% (-1%)
  10. Greece – 3% (-1%)
  11. Australia – 2% (+5 places, +1%)
  12. France – 2% (-1%)
  13. Norway – 2% (-3 places)
