Switzerland opt for internal selection once again!

After the huge success Switzerland have seen at the Eurovision Song Contest this year, a 4th place for Luca Hänni and his ‘She Got Me’, their highest result in 26 years, they have confirmed they’ll be present at Eurovision 2020 in The Netherlands as well!

And they are choosing the same path next year: an internal selection!
The four broadcaster, representing one of the official languages in Switzerland each, will be collaborating again to find a new succesful song for next year: SRF (Germany), RTS (French), RSI (Italian) and RTR (Romansch).

From September the 2nd up until the 16th of September, 12:00 CET, songwriters, artists, producers and lyricists are allowed to hand in their songs.
After that, a 100-people audience panel and an international jury of 20 people (consisting of people who have served as member of their national jury at Eurovision) will thoroughly assess the songs.
They’ll be ranking them and the audience panel and international juries will have a say of 50% each in the final outcome.
All songs will be kept secret to the general public, until the eventual song winning the internal election is being announced as the Swiss Eurovision 2020 entry!

The rules can be found on this page in German, French, Italian, Romansch and English and none other than the man himself, Luca Hänni, encourages everyone to send in their best songs!

Which artist(s) do you hope will send in a song?
