Your Weekly ESCBubble New Music Round-up!

Welcome along to this week’s edition of the most regular and thorough Eurovision new music roundup. Here at ESCBubble we have once again travelled across Europe to find the best new music from former Eurovision Song Contest artists and National Final entrants!

Miki Núñez – Celébrate

Miki didn’t win Spanish talent show Operación Triunfo however that didn’t stop him winning the ticket to Tel Aviv this year when he won the Eurovision Gala with party anthem ‘La Venda’. He’s back already with his follow-up single ‘Celébrate’ which also brings us plenty of summer party vibes. It’s clear to us that this is definitely going on our beach & summer BBQ playlists! Miki’s even released a music video for us to enjoy.

Céline Dion – Flying On My Own

Winner of the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest Céline Dion has seen perhaps the most successful post-Eurovision careers with dozens of globally successful singles and albums. Perhaps better known for a power ballad, Céline has mixed things up this year with her new single ‘Flying On My Own’, a brilliant pop song with a club-ready dance chorus. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out Céline’s new track here:

Ilse DeLange – Gravel & Dust

Ilse took to the Eurovision stage back in 2014 as part of The Common Linnets, placing 2nd behind Conchita. She also discovered the talented Duncan Laurence who won Eurovision back in May! ‘Gravel & Dust’ is the lead single from her upcoming album of the same name. Ilse was featured on US hit show Nashville last year in a cameo role – and this new song could well be taking Tennessee by storm in the months to come.

Sergey Lazarev – Lovi

Russia’s 2016 third-placer Sergey Lazarev returned to Eurovision this year where he picked up a second bronze medal with his track ‘Scream’. He’s just released his latest offering ‘Lovi’, a dark, Russian-language electro-pop song. The song offers up atmosphere and house-like beats.

ARI – Too Good

Iceland’s 2018 entrant Ari Ólafsson may have moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Music however this hasn’t stopped him from pursuing a music career. ‘Too Good’ is totally different to his classic Eurovision ballad. A smooth pop song which wouldn’t sound out of place on a Justin Timberlake album is a totally new sound for Ari, who has rebranded under his forename ARI.

María Isabel – Tu Mirada

Winner of the 2004 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, María Isabel is all grown up now and despite failing to win the Spanish National Final back in 2016 has continued her music career. Her latest single ‘Tu Mirada’ is a delicious slice of latin pop and will be joining Miki’s track in our Summer playlists.

Felix Sandman – Middle of Nowhere

Formerly of FO&O, Felix Sandman’s career has skyrocketed since his solo appearance at Melodifestivalen 2018. Despite placing second to Benjamin Ingrosso, Felix has since gone on to release his debut album and also be a main character in Swedish crime-drama ‘Quicksand’. ‘Latest single ‘Middle of Nowhere’ is an exciting pop song which follows a lot of the Scandinavian formulae to be a catchy foot-tapper.

Mørland & MIIA – How To Lose Something Good

Mørland represented Norway back in 2015 as part of the ‘A Monster Like Me’ duet and appeared again at the Norwegian national final show Melodi Grand Prix 2019. This time he has teamed up with young Norwegian singer MIIA on ‘How To Lose Something Good’. A delicate and emotional ballad, their voices blend perfectly for this pop song.

Isaiah – Spirit

Australia’s 2017 entrant Isaiah has continued to release soulful tracks since his Eurovision appearance and this week he has released the beautiful ‘Spirit’. Somewhat similar to his Eurovision track, ‘Spirit’ is a mid-tempo pop ballad which allows him to perfectly show the depth in his vocals.

Claydee ft. Eleni Foureira – Loquita

Eleni Foureira has become a household name across Europe since her ‘Fuego’ appearance at last years contest. She’s teamed up with fellow Greek-Albanian Claydee on ‘Loquita’, a sultry ethno-dance-pop song. This will have you wanting to bop in a Mediterranean club with its dirty beat.

Basim – La Historia

Danish has never sounded so good in song before, ‘La Historia’ could easily be mistaken for a latin banger with it’s dance beats and the lyrical flow. Representing his country in 2014, Basim has delivered a fantastic commercial pop song which will no doubt be hitting the Danish charts very soon.

Eye Cue – Love Me Hate Me

Despite failing to qualify last year, North Macedonia’s EyeCue have continued to be fan favourites. Over the past year they have moved to London but also toured Europe and Australia, appearing at many Eurovision events to perform for their fans. ‘Love Me Hate Me’ is a fab pop song and Marija’s vocals have never sounded better.

Ultimo – Poesia per Roma

In a different move to all the other tracks, Sanremo superfinalist and 2019 runner-up Ultimo has released ‘Poesia per Roma’. Translating literally to ‘Poetry for Rome’, this is a sentimental track with a chilling yet beautiful instrumental playing in the background. We are super excited for Ultimo’s future releases!

Cape Cod ft. JamalaStep (Крок)

Also steering away from her Eurovision sound is 2016 winner Jamala. She has teamed up with electronic DJ Cape Cod for ‘Крок’, an up-tempo electronic pop song. This will definitely be getting radio airplay around Ukraine and Eastern Europe!

Westlife – Dynamite

Irish boy band Westlife have been entertaining fans globally for decades now and their newest track ‘Dynamite’ is surely one of their best. It’s a super-modern pop offering which features Nicky Byrne (Ireland 2016) prominently. An exciting mid-tempo with a cracking key change which is a world away from the ballads you may expect from the group. The boys will be releasing their next studio album ‘Spectrum’ soon.

Lina Hedlund – Breathe

Lina is best known for being a member of the now-dismantled pop group Alcazar and then took to the Melodifestivalen solo this year with ‘Victorious’. ‘Breathe’ is a pop mid-tempo which is a lot tamer than her Melodifestivalen entry however has a great beat and her vocals carry the tune of the verses leading in to a fun chorus.

Isasi B ft. Bella Santiago & YasirisTu Perdición

Bella Santiago won the X Factor Romania at the very start of the year and then took to Romania’s national selection with the fan favourite ‘Army of Love’. She’s now teamed up with Isasi B and Yasiris for ‘Tu Perdición’ which is a Cat Music smash. The song will have you dancing along whilst wishing you were either at the beach or in a pool. The track is not yet on Spotify so check out the hot music video below:

Snik x Tamta – Senorita

Cyprus’s 2019 representative Tamta has teamed up with Snik on new banger ‘Senorita’. The pair debuted the song with a fiery performance at the Mad Music Video Awards last week and the collaboration has resulted in a fantastic banger. Check it out and come join us on the dancefloor:

Adrijana x Z.E – KEXISH

Adrijana debuted in Melodifestivalen 2017 with urban track ‘Amare’ and this week she has dropped her hip hop track ‘KEXISH’ featuring rapper Z.E. If you’re a fan of Swedish rap music then this could be the track of the week for you…
