The deadline in the Czech Republic has passed and broadcaster Česká televize (ČT) have received 152 submissions for their national final next year!
That’s half the amount the broadcaster received last year, though the amount of national authors has gone up: out of the total amount of song, 72 are from Czech songwriters!

One might be surprised about the early deadline but the Czech Eurovision team state that this has been done to give them enough time to create the “best unique musical performances” for the songs, so that each entry gets its chance to shine!
The abovementioned team have already hired a stage designer, who will be working together closely with both the core team and the artist, aiming to make the performances ”stylish, creative and daring”!

The core team, consisting of 5 people, will choose the lucky contestants at the end of this month!

This year, ESCZ was won by Lake Malawi who managed secure the second qualification to the Grand Final in a row for the Czech Republic!
