Eliana Gomez Blanco is representing Malta at Junior Eurovision 2019!

The name of the singer who will be representing Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest later this year is: Eliana Gomed Blanco!

Eliana is 14 years old, is working hard in school in her pursuit of becoming a doctor but has represented her home country in several international competitions already, of which she’s adding another one this year!
On Instagram she can’t believe her luck and happily writes:

It’s like I’m living a dream! I still can’t wrap my head around what has happened in these few hours! I am going to represent Malta in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Gliwice, Poland ❤

Last year she has won the Għanja Tal-Poplu Żgħażagħ competition as one half of a duet, together with Aidan Jay Drakar, with the song ‘Dwell’ and that very same year she was also a finalist in the running to becoming the Junior Eurovision representative!
This year, however, she managed to go all the way, in front of Leah Cauchi and Martina Cutajar in second and third place respectively.
This result was determined by only voting for 50%, the other half came from a professional jury which included Deo Grech, Claudia Faniello (Malta 2017) and last year’s Maltese Junior Eurovision representative Ela Mangion!

The next step is Eliana and her team determining which song she’ll be going to Poland with.
For now Eliana leaves us with these wise words:

Always stay true to your own values and don’t be influenced by others!

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2019 will take place in Gliwice-Silesia, Poland on the 24th of November!
