Joana Almeida chosen to represent Portugal in Junior Eurovision 2019!

Portuguese broadcaster RTP have today come forward with their (internal) choice for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
Their choice fell on the 10-year old Joana Almeida, who they invited personally to represent them after she won the popular Portuguese singing contest for children: Gala Internacional dos Pequenos Cantores da Figueira da Foz.

Next to handpicking their representative, RTP have also chosen the composer of the song already!
They have opted for João Pedro Coimbra who has created ‘Vem comigo (Come With Me)’ to be the Portuguese entry!
The theme of the song is the environment and the fact that children and teenagers are well aware of the alarming state our earth is in these days.
The song speaks of hope and that the youth can make a change and their generation can have a positive impact on our planet!

João Pedro Coimbra has tried to go to Eurovision before when in 2017, being one of the invited composers, wrote this song for Pedro Gonçalves:

Joana’s song will be released at a later date.
Do you think her song will resemble Don’t Walk Away? Or will it be in a totally different genre?
