The Mamas to return to Melodifestivalen 2020?

Is it too late for….John Lundvik’s 2019 backing singers to return to Sweden’s Melodifestivalen? It seems not, as both Nöjesbladet and Aftonbladet are reporting that the sassy gospel choir ‘The Mamas’ have submitted an entry to next year‘s competition with a ‘soul-funk’ sound to it.

We also understand that the four piece group are now a trio, with founder member Paris Renita having left this month, this leaves them as a three piece containing Loulou Lamotte, Ashley Haynes and Dinah Yona Manna. Several independent sources have claimed that the ‘next chapter’ mentioned in the following Instagram post is a reference to next year’s Melodifestivalen:

The Mamas brought a standout performance during this year’s Melodifestivalen, with their soaring gospel vocals and on stage presence being much talked about. Not only did they help John Lundvik win the televote but they also received the maximum 12 points from every jury on the night. At Eurovision ‘Too Late For Love’ finished 5th in the Grand Final with 334 points. You can enjoy that performance again here:
