PBS, the Maltese public and Eurovision broadcaster, has today announced its selection method for Rotterdam 2020 – The X Factor Malta.

This will be the second season of the Maltese ratings smash, from which Michela Pace emerged victorious in 2019. The final of the competition will be slightly later next year, taking place on Saturday 8th February 2020.

The show will be again shown on the main TVM channel, with all of the live shows taking place on a Sunday apart from the final.

Unless there is a change of format, the song for the winning artist at Eurovision will be presented after the X Factor itself. Last’s year entry ‘Chameleon’ took the Maltese back in the Grand Final finishing 14th with 107 points. The previous two entries ‘Breathlessly’ and ‘Taboo’ failed to quality after being chosen using the previous format – MESC.
