Croatia’s Dora 2020 to be held on the 29th of February!

HRT, Croatia’s national broadcaster, will once again organize Dora in order to select Croatia’s entry for the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in the Netherlands. Earlier today it was announced that next year’s edition is going to be held on the 29th of February.

Eurosong.hr reports that HRT signed a contract with the City of Opatija and the companies Opatija 21 and Festival Opatija. The parties agreed in this contract that the “Days of HRT” in 2020 and 2021 are going to be celebrated once again in Opatija, and Croatia’s Eurovision pre-selection Dora is a part of this project as well.

There will be a total of 16 acts competing in Dora 2020, and the show will once again take place in the Marino Cvetković hall. Tickets for the show should be on sale in January.

All interested artists have until the 15th of December to send their songs in. All artists must have Croatian citizenship, and submit the final master version of their entry. Songs must be in either Croatian, English, French or Italian language, and they can not be published or performed live before the show. The full rules and the application form can be found via this link (click).

Roko won Dora 2019 and he went on to represent Croatia in Tel Aviv. His entry “The Dream” unfortunately failed to make it to the Final.
