Sakis Rouvas shakes it once again with a new version of “Shake it”

Sakis Rouvas is a Greek singer who is very famous in Greece and the balkans. You would probably recognize him from his Eurovision appearances as he represented his homeland twice. His first appearance on the Eurovision stage was in Istanbul in 2004 with his song “Shake it” which finished in 3rd place that year and gave Greece their best result at the time. His second appearance wasn’t much after as he hosted the 2006 edition of the show when this took place in Athens. In 2009 he was chosen once again to represent Greece in Moscow where he was ranked 7th with his song “This is our night”.

It’s today that the new version of his 2004 entry was released. This time Sakis isn’t shaking it by himself as he is joined by the Israeli artist Nicol Raidman. Nicol, 33 years old business woman was born in Ukraine and immigrated to Israel in 1996 with her family. Although being widely known in Israel for her lavish lifestyle, she recently rose to fame in the music industry after releasing three singles in late 2019 . Nicol herself mentioned Eurovision as a contest she would like to participate in.

Although much effort was made to bring the new version to life with Nicol travelling multiple times to Athens to record the song and film the video, the Israeli crowd had a variety of opinions concerning the song with some positive opinions as well as some negative ones.
