The sixth and the final song of UMK 2020 is out – listen to “Eternity” by Catharina Zühlke here!

The sixth and the final song of this year’s Finnish national selection for Eurovision, Uuden musiikin kilpailu (UMK) is now out! You can listen to the song Eternity by Catharina Zühlke here:

Catharina Zühlke is a Finnish singer from Vantaa, Finland. She is an experienced artist, since she has loved performing ever since she was a little child and has worked as a professional musician for years. Zühlke first came into the public knowledge when she participated in the seventh season of the Finnish Idol in 2013, where she ended up as fifth place.

Eurovision fans probably remember Catharina Zühlke best from UMK 2017, where she took the second place right after the winner Norma John. Zühlke’s song in UMK 2017 was Perfect Villain:

According to Yle, Zühlke’s UMK 2020 -song Eternity is about the power of love. This is how Zühlke herself describes the song:

When Eternity was born, all the pieces just clicked into the right places as by themselves. I got a strong feeling that this song has a bigger meaning.

UMK 2020 -finalists have been chosen by a professional jury, which consists of many Finnish music industry professionals. The jury has given some comments of the six competing songs. This is what the jury said about Eternity by Catharina Zühlke:

A touching story, a dynamic song and a great interpretation by Catharina all make this a potential world-beater at the Eurovision Song Contest. Henrik Tala, the Finn behind the successful Norwegian entry in the 2019 contest, has again shown that he is a world-class writer and producer of pop music

All competing songs of UMK 2020 have now been published. Finnish representative for Eurovision will be chosen in the UMK 2020 -show, which takes place on March 7th 2020 in Tampere, Finland.
