Today NDR, as the broadcaster responsible for the German participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, has broken the silence and confirmed a few bits of information that were making the rounds in fan circles already.
And they’ve found a very original way to do it!
Television host Barbara Schöneberger doesn’t just explain it to us, she sings it out loud in a video you just have to see first!
Barbara starts out listing things Germany is great at: producing cars, serving the best Bratwurst and bringing forth football star Toni Kroos! But when it comes to Eurovision, results have been lacking…
Time to turn that around, Barbara agrees, and she first confirms that there will be no national final! Instead two juries have determined the German act and song for Eurovision 2020: one Eurovision panel (carefully selected Eurovision fans) and the other jury is a panel consisting of 20 people who have already served jury duty at Eurovision for their country!
The outcome of this, which artist with which song will represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 will be revealed on the 27th of February at 21:30 CET on channel ONE, in a special programme ”Unser Lied für Rotterdam”, hosted by the star of the video above: Barbara Schöneberger!
Last year, Germany were represented by S!sters:
Who do you hope the juries have chosen to represent Germany this year?
