Božidar Wolfand Wolf is competing in EMA2020 with the song “Maybe Someday”. EMA is the slovenian national final for Eurovision Song Contest, the final will take place this week on 22 February, where 12 acts will compete to win the ticket for Rotterdam. We had the chance to talk with him before the national final about his participation in the contest.

Hello Božidar Wolfand Wolf and thank you for taking you time for ESCBubble! First of all, how was your reaction when you heard you will be at EMA2020?
I am obviously excited, first of all because I returned from United States after 28 years back home to re-launch my career and was so glad to be excepted into this great competition for the third time in my career. My first time Was in 84 With a group Rendezvous-vous singing a song Don’t Cry Cherie that is still very popular even after almost 40 years in my country, And the second time in 87 with a song called C’est la vie and now for the third time i’m competing against my younger friends so yes I’m excited and happy. It is so, so very hard to describe how happy I am.

What are your expectation for the contest?
As I said just being in this competition at my age is an honor but like every competition there is a winner and I’m fighting for that place.

Your song is called “Maybe Someday”? What it is about, what’s the story behind?
My song is an awesome hope for lost love to be restored between two souls, type of love song accompanied with a powerful beat and a hint of Scottish and Irish musical flavors

How will be the staging at EMA2020? What can we expect from your performance?
We are going all out with the look and stage presence. We hope will draw in our listeners inside the story we are telling and hopefully win their hearts.

Do you follow Eurovision and have you a favorite song from the contest?
Call me Old-fashioned but I still love Waterloo by ABBA. Songs like this are not written any more since music styles evolved throughout the years and now Eurovision song contest has a very unique sound and all artists are producing tracks that would match that unique style which is presented by this show.

And any other plans for 2020? Can we expect new music from Božidar?
Yes I am very happy I’m finally making my new album which I hope will be completed sometime in September.
