Dianna Rotaru: ” The participation at Eurovision was a priority for me”

Dianna Rotaru is competing in ‘O melodie pentru Europa 2020’ with the song “Dale Dale” and we had the opportunity to talk with her before the final. The National final will take place on 29 February, where 20 songs will compete to win the ticket for Rotterdam.

Hello Dianna, and thank you for taking you time for ESCBubble! First of all, how was your reaction when you heard you will be at ‘O melodie pentru Europa 2020’?

The participation at Eurovision was a priority for me, that’s why all my emotional investments were fully dedicated to this project called DALE DALE, which to my joy reached to the Moldova’s national final.

What are your expectations from the contest?

I think the public has more expectations, they were very active and productive in sharing, voting my song in polls, commenting on Youtube, Facebook, Instagram. My pages are full of support messages and that makes me believe “Dale Dale” has a chance to represent Moldova. Also, I follow the international Eurovision tops and I’m sure this year the best ones will hit the stage!

It’s not your first attempt for Eurovision, your last try was in 2009, what made you decide to come back?

The emotions I get from the Eurovision stage called me, I just missed it! It’s been a long time, but I didn’t miss any edition from the contest and I was happy every time to see my talented colleagues representing my country on the big stage! In 2010 and 2011 I presented the national finals and had a very beautiful experience on the stage!

Can you tell us about your song for O melodie pentru Europa, “Dale Dale”, what it is about? And why do you think your song would be a good choice for Moldova?

The song is about woman/man relationship and the passion between them, which it grows during the dance! I sing in Romanian and Spanish because in my vision we have common cultures, like: the music language sound, the beautiful women, angry temperament, national costumes where the red color is predominant, the symbol of the bull from their bullfighting, which appears also on our Moldovan flag! If those who listen to “Dale Dale” put it on repeat, then the chances of the song are increasing!

How will be the staging at ‘O melodie pentru Europa 2020’? What can we expect from your performance?

Ooo you wanna know? Ok, we are in talks with the creative team and they will take care to bring the best show ever!

Do you follow Eurovision and have you a favorite song from the contest?

I said earlier, I follow Eurovision every year and this year we’re going to have serious competition with many good songs and strong voices.

Any other plans for 2020? Can we expect new music from you?

We are in the process of shooting the music video for “DALE DALE”, but I cannot really share details yet. What I can do is to provoke you to share your guesses and ideas about my look and the video expectations in the comments section. The release date is coming soon. ✌ Regarding my near musical future and plans, I will collaborate with Natan (a famous singer in Moldova and Romania) and release a fresh song for the summer season. Something hot for sure!

In the end, I want to thank you for your time and please, if you have a message for your fans and our readers here on ESCBubble?
