Imset are competing in EMA2020 with the song “Femme Fatale”. EMA is the slovenian national final for Eurovision Song Contest, the final will take place this week on 22 February, where 12 acts will compete to win the ticket for Rotterdam. We had the chance to talk with them before the national final about their participation in the contest.
Hello Imset and thank you for taking you time for ESCBubble! First of all, how was your reaction when you heard you will be at EMA2020?
This is our first time, and we’re really excited. Although we had no expectations, but now this is really happening, holy sh*t! Our song »Femme Fatale« is just the right one for this and we’re gonna do our best on the performance, you can definitely expect something great. For sure. Who knows, maybe we’ll see you on Eurovision 😉
What are your expectation for the contest?
At first we didn’t even think we’ll get that far. But now, we’re really working hard to make sure our show will be great and hopefully that will lead us to win the EMA 2020.
What made you decide to participate in the competition?
Honestly? We said f**k it, let’s try it hehe. We’ve never done anything like this before, and we’re so happy now that we’re in!
Your song is called “Femme Fatale”, what can you tell us about the song, who’s your “Femme Fatale”?
The song is about a fatal, toxic woman.. in short, the one that has you wrapped around her finger, brakes your heart, and can kill you from the inside. Oh the toxicity 🙂
How will be the staging at EMA2020? What can we expect from your performance?
Lots and lots of energy, for sure. That’s what we’re always into. And as a ‘specialty’ we’ll be doing a non-classical band staging. Be prepared!
Do you follow Eurovision and have you a favorite song from the contest?
We followed Eurovision almost every year, until now that EMA has happened. Now there’s literally no time to listen to other countries. But no worries, we’ll have plenty of time when we’ll be in Rotterdam 🙂
And any other plans for 2020? Can we expect new music from Imset?
Definitely! There’ll be few upcoming singles. One was released 2 weeks ago, the other one is coming with EMA 2020 (Femme Fatale) and before summer there will be a little bit more ‘heavy’ surprise! Of course with concerts in that package as well.
