Tonight it is time to start this year’s Festival di Sanremo! Festival di Sanremo is an annual Italian song competition, and the winner of the contest is offered an opportunity to represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest. There’s five shows in Sanremo 2020 and the winner is decided in the final, which takes place this Saturday, February 8th.

There’s 24 contestants in Sanremo, and tonight we get to hear the first 12 of them:
