Roxen will represent Romania at Eurovision 2020!

This evening during “Destinaţia Eurovision Song Contest 2020” at TV show hosted by TVR, Roxen was announced as the representative of Romania at Eurovision. The race was between her, Diana V and Cezar Guna.

Larisa Roxana Giurgiu, is a young artist, new on the spotlight but already with a top 10 Club Charts in UK , her song with SICKOTOY was the most played song on The Voice Radio Bulgaria in last week of October and has also been played in over 15 countries. “Ce-ti Canta Dragostea” is also a big hit from her in Romania, with over 8 millions views so far.

Next week, on 21st February her 5 songs for the national final will be released and one of them will represent Romania in the contest. All of her songs for Eurovision were made in a music camp, where many songswriters from Global Records tried to find the best songs for the contest. Among those songwriters were involved Vicky Red, he tried to represent Romania in 2012 with the song ” If you ever feel” but he finished 10th in the national final, David Ciente, who was part of Electric Fence (National final 2012&2013).

Roxen is also a big fan of Billie Eilish. She recently sang a cover of her song “Bad Guy” at a local radio station. Can we expect some dark-pop from her in the national final?

This year Romania changed their selection process, they first selected the artist with the help of Global Records company and the second phase of the process was focusing on the songs. Unlike past years, when they made a national final with many artists and their own songs.

Last year Romania failed to qualify in the final, they finished 13th in the semifinal with Ester Peony and her song “On a Sunday”.
