Afrojack will be the interval act for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 final!

The show producers of the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 have found their star to be the interval act during the final!
Earlier they stated that they would not be inviting artists like Justin Timberlake and Madonna, who performed during the Eurovision editions of Stockholm 2016 and Tel Aviv 2019 respectively, but would instead be looking inside their own country for musical talent.
Now they have found it with world famous DJ Afrojack!
And actually really close to home it is! As Afrojack (real name: Nick van de Wall) was born and raised in Spijkenisse not far from Rotterdam!

Head of Show, Gerben Bakker, revealed this on the NPO Radio 2 show today and elaborated:

We’re not gonna merely put Afrojack on stage. We’re gonna do something very special!
Ofcourse we could’ve put him behind a DJ booth and in that case he’d be delivering a fantastic show. But our theme is ”Open Up” and we want to connect different styles. That’s why Afrojack will be performing with a live orchestra, 65 people. Young musicians we’ve selected from conversatoria from all over The Netherlands, so that’s gonna be a cross-over of all kinds of different music styles.

Gerben Bakker is very excited about this daring project and continues:

I don’t think there have ever been that many people on a Eurovision stage.
A 65-person orchestra, a 25-member gospel choir, Afrojack and our dancecrew of 40 people. I’m getting goosebumps already!
