For the second year in a row Malta chose her representative through the reality show “X-Factor Malta”. Last year it was Michela who got to represent the little archipelago on the stage in Tel Aviv. For Rotterdam Malta chose to send the former winner of the Junior Eurovision song contest, Destiny Chukunyere. Known for her impressive vocals Destiny was very popular in the contest and got great feedback week after week.
It has just been revealed that the song Destiny is going to be singing in Eurovision 2020 is titled “All Of My Love”. Listen to the Maltese entry right here:
Malta’s first participation in the contest was in 1971. Most of the Maltese entries were sung in English. Yet, the first two entries were fully sung in Maltese but sadly they both got to the last position. After a withdrawal from the 1976 contest the country only came back to the contest in 1991 finishing 6th that year. Since then Malta managed to get to the top 10 every year till 1999 where they got to the 15th position. Malta’s highest rank is 2nd and it was achieved in 2002 and then again in 2005. Malta managed to qualify to the final 9 times out of 16 participations.
Will Destiny carry her country to the top of the scoreboard or will we have to say goodbye already in the semi final ? Tell us what you think in the comments below !
