Following many rumours since the beginning of the season, the Greek broadcaster ERT revealed it will be represented by Stefania in this year’s contest which is set to take place in Rotterdam in mid May. Following the allocation draw which took place in January it was decided that Greece will compete in the second Semi Final.

Greece is among the most popular countries in the contest. It holds an impressive record of qualification to the grand final since the introduction of the system in 2004 as it only missed the final twice in 2016 and 2018. It also hold a record of a yearly top 10 ranking from 2004 to 2011 and then again in 2013. This record includes a victory in 2005 with Helena Paparizou and her song “My Number one” which quickly became a worldwide hit as well.
