RTVE starts “Eurovision Marathon” from 26th of April!

Spanish broadcaster RTVE has decided to start a “Eurovision Marathon” on RTVE Digital from this Sunday, 26th of April at 20:30 when they will be broadcasting the grand final of Eurovision 2004 in Istanbul. The official website will broadcast the shows starting at 20:30 CET and all the fans can comment on social networks using the hashtag #MaratónESC followed by the year corresponding to the grand final for this Sunday it will be #MaratónESC2004.

From 27th of April, the broadcast will occur from Monday to Friday. The Eurovision Marathon will be ending on May 15th, which is just one day before the broadcast of the “Eurovision: Europe shine a light”

In the light of the current situation and the pandemic caused by COVID 19, the European Broadcasting Union has given the broadcasting rights of the Eurovision Grand Finals from 2004 to 2019 to the broadcasters, while the rights of the Eurovision Song Contests held from 1956 to 2003 belong to the hosting broadcaster and that is the reason why except these shows on the RTVE website you can only watch the 1969 edition, held in Madrid. In the Eurovision Grand Finals that will be broadcast during the Eurovision Marathon, some fragments have been removed following the restrictions set by the EBU.

In addition to all of that, you can also play with RTVE voice assistant in the first voice experience on Eurovision. Through this action, developed by the RTVE Digital Lab you can follow the current events and put your knowledge to the test with the Euroquiz.
