“Marty’s Magic Eurovision Moments” to be aired on 16th of May!

Irish broadcaster, RTÉ has revealed their plan to broadcast a special  Eurovision show “Marty’s Magic Eurovision Moments” hosted by their commentator Marty Whelan in which he will go among some of the most memorable things which happened throughout the history of the show.

Marty Whelan revealed some of his favourite moments and performers which include: Johnny Logan (Ireland 1980 and 1987), Dana (Ireland 1970), burning piano (Austria 2015), Verka (Ukraine 2007), Polish entry in 2014 and many more. Fans had a chance to send their favourite moments too via email to martyeurovisionmoments@rte.ie in order for them to be featured in the show.

“I hope people enjoy it and they get a laugh out of it and also get to see some of the ridiculous things people do at Eurovision, because some of the people who went to do Eurovision shouldn’t be let out on their own,” Marty said.

Ireland has revealed their interest to take part in the next years competition but it is still unknown if Lesley Roy will be back again for the next year. Lesley should’ve performed “Story Of My Life” at this years contest.

About the Irish representative Marty said: “We really felt that she had everything – the look, the sound, a great song. We really thought that she was going to make the final this year because she is so good – so that’s a disappointment. It’s a disappointment for her too because this is a big chance for her. I still think that there are countries who will want to see her again. I still think that she is somebody who could make her mark yet.”

“Marty’s Magical Eurovision Moments” is going to be broadcasted on Saturday 16th of May starting from 19:55 CEST on RTÉ One.
