Equinox’s Johnny Manuel wows Judges with The Voice Australia Audition

In 2018, common framework EQUINOX represented Bulgaria at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon with ‘Bones’. The group, consisting of Zhana Bergendorff, Georgi Simeonov, Vlado Mihailov, Trey Campbell and Johnny Manuel, performed well at the contest and placed 14th in the final with 166 points.

The latter of these members, Johnny Manuel, has just auditioned for The Voice Australia and to say that his audition wowed the judges is probably an unfair understatement! His rendition of ‘Home’ by Diana Ross had judges Guy Sebastian, Kelly Rowland, Boy George & Delta Goodrem on their feet and quite literally screaming in awe – and when watching the video our reaction wasn’t too far from that either! Check out his audition below;

Securing all four judges turning for his audition quite quickly, he was able to deliver a vocal masterclass with some incredible riffs and high notes! Following his audition, Johnny chose to join Guy Sebastian’s team and will be seen again at the next stage of the competition. Can he go all the way and win over the Australian public?

Johnny is no stranger to TV talent competitions, having reached the semi finals of America’s Got Talent back in 2017 with his performance of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Have Nothing’ going viral to audiences online.

In the days after the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, EQUINOX pledged to stay together for future projects having been signed to Universal Music Group however a follow-up single has yet to be released. You can relive their performance at the grand final in Lisbon here:
