Israel: News regarding the selection process of Eurovision 2021 entry!

As Walla reports there are some news regarding the selection process for the next entry of Israel at Eurovision. The selection will be divided into two phases. Professional committee will select 16 songs from all the songs recieved; Then it will go to the digital phase – the 16 songs selected by the committee will be displayed on the corporation’s digital platforms, on a dedicated website.Half of them will advance further so 8 songs total out of which 4 will be chosen by the surfers and 4 will be chosen by the committee members. The 8 songs will be performed in 2 semi-finals (4 songs in each). During the semi-finals the songs will be performed by the songwriters or by appropriate performers. Two winning songs from each semifinal will be selected for the final show where Eden Alene will perform the 4 final songs live or in a pre-recorded show. Each TV show will last approx. 52 minutes. The winning song will be chosen in mid-February.

Let us remind you that Eden Alene has been selected for the representative of Israel at Eurovision 2020 after winning HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion (“The Next Star for Eurovision”) and on 3rd of March 2020 she performed four songs at the pre-selection show where “Feker libi” got the most votes. After Eurovision 2020 got cancelled it has been confirmed that Eden Alene will be the representative of Israel at Eurovision 2021.
